My Story

I’m a retired Federal criminal investigator who was with the legacy U.S. Customs Service and then Homeland Security Investigations (as its successor agency) from 2002 to 2022; I spent most of my career as a special agent in Miami, save for two years at headquarters from 2009 to 2011. I worked a wide range of investigative disciplines, including narcotics, terrorism, money laundering, and asset forfeiture. Before my time as an agent, I was a uniformed officer serving in the legacy U.S. Customs Service in Miami and Bermuda from 1992 to 2002, preceded by two years as an Inspector with the legacy U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in New York from 1990 to 1992.

In my almost two years of retirement to date, I have learned that “life beyond the badge” requires preparation that needs to begin years before the actual date – What will the fixed-benefit annuity be? TSP? What debts will you have? Will you work after the end of Federal service? If so, what do you plan to do? What knowledge, skills, and abilities of value do you bring to a future employer? What lifestyle do you want (e.g. travel, tackling pricey home improvements, etc.)? The permutations are almost endless, and can be overwhelming; do you really want to risk going it alone?

In addition to 30-plus years of experience, I hold a doctorate in leadership and management, and a Master’s in Personal Financial Planning. I engage in a systematic approach to helping you plan for retirement, while listening with a sympathetic ear – because I went through the process myself. I’m looking forward to helping YOU!!!
